kicking cans, pushing rocks, & doing stuff
Hello hello,
Three or four times a year I have a nightmare where I’m hosting a social gathering entirely from my bed. I’m always trying to be a good host while simultaneously trying to get back to sleep. At some point in every dream I have a moment where I think, “Huh, now’s not a great time for me to be hosting since I’m, you know, asleep.”
And then I wake up! And somehow it is May 16th and I haven’t sent out an email in a little bit. Pull up a chair! We’ve got some LINKS.

FROM SCREEN TO SHINING SCREEN
CLAMBAKE - NEW YORK, NY
Clambake (a film I was lucky enough to edit) had a screening outside in Sunset Park as part of the The Art of Brooklyn Film Festival. This movie will always hold a sweet spot in my heart and I’m so glad it had an open-air-viewing. You can watch it inside or outside at the link below.
COURTYARD - LOS ANGELES, CA
Courtyard, the first music video in the HEARTACHE Visual Album I produced last year, just won Best Music Video as part of the New Media Film Festival. Congrats to Diego, Pat, Matt, Tim and Ollie for making such a beautiful vid!
Jenelle Cheyne’s Reel - Chicago, IL
Got to snip together a sweet reel for my pal, Jenelle! This one also includes a sneak peak of an upcoming sketch called PROM that will be dropping any dang day now. Please do yourself a favor and cast Jenelle in stuff.
And now? Now I’m running out the door to catch Abby Paj in The Infinite Wrench tonight at 7pm. And if you’re around Chicago for the next three weeks YOU CAN TOO.
xoxo,
Will
This is from the artist Sishi Wang — swing by Lillstreet anytime before June 28th to check out this installation! I walk past the gallery on my way to teach my filmmaking course and I take a little pause every time.
